Eric Potthast

Eric grew up playing tennis in his home town of Fort Wayne, IN. He attended Methodist College in Fayetteville, NC. As a walk-on member of the team, he played as high as the #2 singles position. Eventually, Eric transferred to Indiana University-Bloomington. While working at the Indiana Tennis Center as a staff teaching pro, he completed his Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology (the study of the movement of the body) and received his certification to teach physical education K-12.
Since 1997, Potthast has had a wide variety of tennis teaching/coaching experiences including parks and recreation programs, country clubs, summer college camps, and racquet clubs. Currently, he is the head coach for the boys’ and girls’ tennis teams at Cardinal Ritter High School. Eric has been a West Indy Tennis Pro since 2009.
